Quick tip

Avoid unnecessary wear
on your suites arms – try some coordinated arm caps.

You may be one of many people who are curious whether it would be better to keep your suite and have it reupholstered or to buy a new one. Here’s some pointers for you…

The furniture market has divided into the cheap and short-lived or the well-made, comfortable and long-lasting suites.

Good quality furniture is becoming harder to find with, for example, Parker Knoll going out of business in 2004, and the market is beginning to turn as people realise that if they have a good suite it is worth it to have it re-covered even though they could buy a cheap new suite for less.

With this in mind, I invite you to ask me to call and give your furniture an ‘MOT’, and see what needs to be done. I will give candid advice if it is beyond saving; otherwise I will prepare costings whilst you look through the pattern books.

Another point here – there are six boxes of books I could show you, so there should be no problem for you to get both design and the quality of fabric that fulfils your requirements, be it chenille, dralon, tapestry or leather. I can advise you regarding the overall effect of the fabric and design. Contrast this with many new furniture stores where there is only range A or range B to choose from, with no help from the commission-only salesman

To sum up: if price is the only criterion, you must buy new. If durability, comfort, advice and choice are important… send me an email now!
